I picked this whip up at an event just to look at it and fell in love....was lucky enough to break it in at a party in that same event and found it behaved beautifully for me, and was enjoyed by the person I was working on/with who had never felt the touch of a whip or played in public before. I treasure this whip already and love, love, love its feel and movement!

Whip Care

Cleaning Your Whip
Use only pure glycerin soap to clean your whip. To clean the whip lather a soft and slightly damp cloth. Then rub the whip gently from handle to end. Use a second slightly damp cloth to remove the lather. Hang whip to dry at least over night before conditioning it.

Conditioning Your Whip
All of our whips have been cleaned and conditioned already. Master Axel conditions them while He plaits them. However, we recommend that you still clean and condition your new whip every 3-5 months. We highly recommend that you use only Pecards Leather Conditioner on your quality kangaroo leather whip. After cleaning, take a small amount of Pecards and rub it between your hands and apply to the whip, working from handle to end, then hang the whip overnight in a warm place, then wipe off any extra the next day. Neatsfoot and other oils are not recommended as they damage the leather and ruin the whip.

Storing Your Whip
Store your whip hanging whenever possible. If not, lay it out straight and relaxed for storage. Store your whip in a case or bag when traveling with it. It needs to be protected from any other toys, as many things can “pick” or “nick” a plait and weaken your whip, or even jab between the plaits and damage the whip. Today Master Axel is a master whip craftsman, Master and Owner of His property, slave april and one of the leading suppliers for S&M whips throughout the country and part of Europe. His whip philosophy is simple: A whip can be a work of art and gorgeous to look at but it should be a tool you want to use often; not just a show piece.

Master Axel was born in Germany and has lived in Holland and England but settled in the United States in 1997. Once here, He found His passion for whips. In 1999 He started braiding whips and has kept going since. Over these years He has vended or presented a demo at many of the largest and smallest BDSM functions throughout the central and eastern United States.

Signal whips: flexible from handle to end, usually with the cracker plaited in, sometimes a loop for replaceable crackers.

Bullwhips: whips with ridged internal handles, usually 6-8 inches long. The rest of the whip is flexible and plaited down to where a “fall” is plaited into the body of the whip. The “fall” is a strip of latigo from which a cracker is attached.

Snake whip: Similar to a bullwhip, but without the stiff internal handle.

Target whip: A signal whip with a braided in cracker, however it has a rigid handle like a bull whip. New, accurate and very popular whip.

Plaits are how many strands are braided in to make a whip. The higher the plaits the more strands are used in the braiding of the whip.

Typically, the higher the plait count, the quicker the whip breaks in, and the more expensive the whip is.

However, the higher and thinner the plait count, the more fragile each individual plait.

Regardless, higher plait whips are still very sturdy and highly recommended.

All good whips should be made of quality kangaroo leather.

Kangaroo leather is one of the strongest leathers available in comparison to most others in its thickness and flexibility.

Kangaroo leather breaks in beautifully and results in a strong and supple whip.

Shot loading refers to the internal portion of the whip has a “shot bag” inside of it and is heavier at the handle to balance the length of the whip.

The “shot” is tightly packed inside of a “bag” of some sort (it differs from whipmaker to whipmaker).

Shot loading makes a whip much easier to throw longer and easier to crack.

There is no refund on custom ordered whips unless requested prior to completion of order.

Dyes

Leather is a natural material. Depending upon the variance of the hides, actual colors of the leather once dyed will vary.
